me & the old Dodge rumbled into Cody mid morning yesterday.  Got all set-up and started fondling old Winchesters almost immediately.  It is good to see a lot of “old” familiar faces, and to meet a few new WACA members.

Image EnlargerThe Cody Winchester Show is on my bucket list..kinda like going to ‘heaven’. While I was there I met three “Winchester Angels”. Steve, Jeff and Bert.. hovering over the show, showering Winchester knowledge to everyone in attendance.

I wasn’t able to meet up with all the active WACA members but did finally meet Bert, Jeff, Tim, Heather, Jesi, Angela, & Ben. Unfortunately a common issue with lanyard name tags, they get turned around and unable to see the name on them so didn’t know who was who while in the line going past all the tables but still a wonderful event seeing so many Winchesters. Thank you WACA for a great show.

Glad you made it, probably should put our screen names on the tag when applicable. It was indeed a great show. Safe travels home!

Rick-

I’m truly glad you got to meet the folks you did, I’m a sight more entertaining behind a keyboard than I am in person. If you came by Bert’s table I was possibly in the next chair either eavesdropping trying to learn something from the Wise One or trying to sneak a nap.
Maybe we need to do a scavenger hunt/poker walk next year, see who can shake hands with the most forum members.

Ben, what was the reception for Two-Gun Nan’s M ’90?  Did anyone from the Museum cast envious eyes on it?

My plane could not take off until at least 12 people would get off.  The pilot told me that the temp had raised the density altitude around another 4000 ft.  The plane wasn’t full to begin with.  I believe they got between $1000 and $1500 credit to get off.  I was not going to get off.  I’ve had to spend a night there before.  If it is weather related they don’t have to accommodate you at all.  In my case it was mechanical issues a couple years ago. They were saying the next flight would be impacted too.  Fortunately they held my plane in Denver so I made it home at the same time my baggage did. Airlines after COVID have been terrible.

They stopped by the table… they are interested in having it on loan for display.  With their involvement with the show & everything going on they want to “address it” this next week, which is fine.  Most common phrase I heard this past weekend was “so this is the Two Gun Nan rifle!”…

We didn’t talk about the rifle but I did look at what you had on the table about her.  You made quite the sale on the Ruana knives.

The sad part is that the proceeds are going into the ground… literally.  Need to finish our new 400′ well, pump & well house.  Sigh…..
