Excellent Vince! The G7411R is a tough Model 74 variation to find – Congrats!

Nice score, Vince!
Jeff-isn’t was that the model I passed on and told you about? Our friend from CA, now AZ?
Mike
Yes, I think I bought that one from him?
I found 10 with the 88A peep sight in my safe.
For a full set you need the G7411R pre-war 74, G7411R post-war 74, G7411R post-war 74A, G7412R pre-war 74, G7412R post-war 74 and the G7412R post-war 74A.
I will probably bring a couple extra to Cody so you might have a second chance. 😉

Looking forward to seeing you in Cody this year, Jeff. I think that 74 is better in your collection but I’ll always regret not buying it. Dale had some exceptional .22’s at the time and I bought an armload from him when I saw this 74. I was hoping to see him in Waco next weekend, I don’t think he’ll make it to Cody. I’ll call him and see what I can do.
My apologies for hijacking your post, Vince. A rifle like yours inspired my interest in the 74 awhile back but I wasn’t able to buy it. I told Jeff about it and he was able to add it to his collection. I later scored a “consolation prize” 74 and learned to appreciate the rifle. I’m a sucker for a peep sight and when it’s on a rifle as much fun as the 74 I sit up and take notice. I owe Jeff a favor (or three) so I told him about the rifle and he was able to meet up with my friend Dale Dornam somewhere out in AZ or CA.
Mike
No problem with the hijack, it’s all good info and friendly talk . Nice with being stuck at home.

Yep, looking forward to seeing you guys again this year in Cody also. I did appreciate the hook-up with Dale, we met at the pass near the AZ border and talked Winchesters. I’ll have a table again this year in Cody so hopefully the show does not get cancelled.

Jeff
