This rifle sold for $1150 at the RIA May 2017 auction and was a standard Short, Long, Long Rifle configuration. Notice the dark little wood grain pattern on the left side of the wrist of the stock. You will see it again.
Now here is the same serial number rifle and the same little brown blemish in the wood listed by Mike Bishop on Guns International with an asking price of $3450 and the barrel has been switched out for a .22 LR For Shot Only “Counter Bore” configuration. All the fake bells and whistles were added.

Will be interesting what the seller says and does. Please let us know Michael. Peter
Peter,
Yes it will. I have sent a notice. I never did hear back from Davey Joe on the other octagon barrel LR being offered. There is just over 1 day left on that gun and no bids at $3895!

I asked Mike Bishop if he would be willing to shed any light on how he came to be selling the rifle or where it might have been in the 11 months since it sold at RIA and he said no. So much for concern about his clients I guess. And here I thought he might be interested in pointing out who was responsible for the fake items being sold and the negative impact it has on the collecting community!!
