Most modern repros that attempt to recreate the classic Schnable fail miserably, making it much too bulky & clumsy looking.
I agree, modern attempts at Schnabels are “clunky”, however the original German versions were very thin in the tapered forend and the Schnabel is a bit too small for me. As Goldilocks said, “the Winchester Schnabels are just right”.
