Of course, but somebody invested (or squandered) a lot of time in making it; just like those M90s converted to lever actions…for no good reason except to prove it could be done. Rather surprising how many talented gunsmiths had so much time on their hands; or were they, like Carbine Williams, serving time?

Dont see how it would be treated any differently than bubba’s sawed-off shotgun with whittled down hand grip. Wouldnt touch it with a 10′ pole.

Creative story but I’m pretty sure the BATFE won’t buy it. At first glance it looked pretty good, but who would use a rare “prototype” to drive nails?

Current rules are apparently if it was factory built as a pistol (handgun) it is a pistol. If a firearm is built as a rifle and is shortened to less than 16” barrel and oal less than 26” it becomes a short barreled rifle and NFA paperwork is required. I believe that is why the ad copy asserts this is a factory built pistol. Please consult BATFE’s very helpful site for confirmation and clarification. I’ve been out of the LE biz for several years.
