Hello all,

I was contacted about a couple of “Red Letter” marked rifles this weekend and both of them had been previously seen without that marking. In addition, both of the rifles had the barrel switched from a standard barrel to a round “Short Only” barrel. The serial numbers are 94890 and 96981. I had first come across both of them being sold in original and unaltered condition on Gunbroker out of Augusta, Kansas.  Both rifles had been sold to the same buyer in July and shipped to Indiana.  The current owner bought them from a seller in Indiana.  Here are images of the altered rifle:

Be careful out there and please ask me questions before the check book makes an appearance in the deal.  I really hate delivering $8000 worth of bad new to people.

Those guns look too good.

There are definitely some real obvious problems with them but you do have to know how to look at them and have some serious experience and knowledge to see the flaws.  Regretfully the current owner did not.
