Hello,
We had in my family for over 50 years a Model 62A chambered for shorts only. The serial number is 417208. Everything I have seen doesn’t show a 61A with that high of number. Can someone tell me what year it was made.

Most likely, it was manufactured in 1959, but it could have been a year or two later.

Thanks. I always wondered about it as most everything I have seen show 62A stopped production around 410,000. Have you ever seen a serial number as high as 417,000?

Ned Schwing listed 412022 as the last Model 62A serial number, but that is unconfirmed. Pauline Muerrle has the actual factory serialization records for the Model 62/62A and can provide you with a more accurate answer. I personally have not yet seen or handled one in the serial number range you mention, but I don’t go looking for them either.
