The rifle in question is shown below.  Thing that puzzles me is there’s no iron sights.  I do not own this rifle but thinking about buying it.  The S/N is 99110C which puts the date of MFG in 1960.  It is my understanding the Sporters were stopped in 1959.

Not sure how these photos will show up; they appear to be to small to do anything with.  My main concern is this doesn’t have a front or rear sight and it appears to have never had a front sight.

Production date is 1959 but I suspect better pics will be required to verify it’s originality.

Unless it’s being offered to you at a ridiculously low price, it’s not worth the risk.  Do you want to be “screwed”?

LOL, I might already be.  Would anyone care to value this rifle?

Without having better close-up photos, I think that’s going to be difficult.

Looks like the bolt handle has been ground down for scope clearance.     RRM

If so, it’s a value-killer; any alteration at all knocks the props from under the stupid money usually paid for these guns.  Would also originally have had a ramp font sight.
