I have a burning desire to add a 52C sporter to my rimfire collection. I have owned several 52’s in the past but never a “C” sporter. It seems there are many fakes out there and any help I can get would be appreciated.  I nearly bought one on Gunbroker but when “it’s too good to be true, it usually is”.

52 Sporters are frustrating. Pretty sure most are fake. FWIW the 75 Sporter is a slick little rifle that no one seems to be faking as the collector interest is only lukewarm.
