After being inspired by the Article in the Fall 2018 Winchester Collector “Discovering the Winchester Model 52” I felt the time was right to finally break out my 1930 Vintage Model 52 Serial Number#21698. I had a search done by Cody a number of years ago which revealed it was shipped from New Haven back on September 23,1930. I decided to mate it up with a Lyman 25X Power Super-target Scope which I picked up a few years back. After spending some time today at the range dialing it in, I am a confirmed believer in the reputation of this classic Winchester rifle.
Very nice example of an early 52. I fell in love with these when introduced to formal target shooting as a young man. My first was a 52C in full target mode. Incredibly accurate and not picky about ammo.
My passion for 52’s started my collecting habit. Covered all the various 52’s then moved on to all rimfires. Many more themes and models over the years of course.
But I still shoot one of my 52B’s frequently.

Not sure if anyone has any information on the Lyman Super-Targetspot scope age.
Only makes sense to use the scope you’ve got, but this one is actually much “newer” than your 52–the 25X was added to the STS line in 1949, according to the Lyman Handbook. Even the earliest STS came only in ’37. The best period correct scope would be an early Fecker, available by then in about 10X. However, today, your 25X STS is worth much more.
