Hi there i am from south africa and have the winchester 1904 model. When i got the rifle the extractor was missing. A friend made one but does not work well.
Please if possible could someone send me the exact dimensions of the extractor would be highly appreciated!!

Hi Theodore,
The combination sear/extractor/ejector is a fairly complex part. In fact, with 50+ relevant dimensions, angles and radii it is the most difficult to machine part on the Model 1904. Are you looking for a specific dimension? If so I can supply the height, width, length, etc. but that is not nearly enough information to make one from scratch as there are a lot of very specific angles and radii such as the 5° back rake on the extractor hook, the 40° forward face, the 3 1/2° downward slant on the sear spring engagement surface, .090 radius on the front and back end, etc., etc. And then, after the detailed machining, the component was case hardened.
Your best course of action is to just purchase a replacement. They sell used on eBay for between $20-$30 dollars and can legally be exported from the US and shipped to South Africa since the value is less than $100.
In a pinch you can also easily modify an extractor from a Model 60/67/68 by shortening the overall length, removing the side tabs and adding the bolt nub.
