All the rifles below were in poor to “parts gun” condition when I acquired them. Shown are 3 examples, one each of a color case hardened, nickel plated and rust blued. The plating work was done by an outfit in MA that specializes in gun parts. It was done in a brushed nickel vs. the high gloss. The color case hardened and the blued have their original wood. I had to restock the half nickel model
Nice work! Thanks for posting the pictures.

Hi Erin, Very nice examples and always glad to see the 1890 models getting more attention. I’m also interested in collecting and restoring 1890 models, most from the plentiful number of poor condition rifles available and others from collecting and assembling proper parts, and working to achieve better results on each one I do. May I ask who did the CCH for you, or did you do it yourself? Please feel free to PM me if you’d like to share experiences and results. I have many pictures to share.
BTW….need parts?? http://www.gunbroker.com/item/588105692

Glad to share……..Thanks for the compliment ! I’m away from home for the next couple of weeks, might try to post a pic. of the whole herd of 1890’s. I don’t think a pic. will do them much justice from distance. I will give it a try and see how it turns out.
