Gents,

I have a box of 32-40 ammo that I was wondering how you might be able to tell the age.

The box is in pretty rough shape but you can still see a couple of markings on it.  For example it references a patent date of Dec. 14, 1886, and below the caution label there is a 6-6 number.

It also references Adaptled to Winchester, Marlin and Ballard Rifles.

I am trying to attach a picture.

Well Mark,

I’m going to say, 1906 – 1907, Black Powder Box…..

The 6-6 number is what I am basing my opinion on.
