Traded for a nice old sleeper 1894, SN 979398, c 1925. It’s a standard rifle, 80% blue, 26″ oct. bbl. with a few dark stains in the wood. No cracks, no missing splinters in wood, 75-80% of finish remaining with more than a few character markings. All wood solid, edges proud of the metal. Front sight is an express sight, rear is marked “D.W.King-PAT MAR. 5, 07”. It is a full buckhorn sight that looks very much like a 65 Lyman. Screws are all in very good shape, one at rear of receiver doesn’t appear to be correct but I can remedy that. Allowed about $1500 towards a 3rd gen Colt that I didn’t have much in so I think I did OK.
Nice! Congrats – looks good!

Thanks, pretty tickled about it. I was in the middle of a 32WS load development project a year or so but got sidetracked. Looks like I need to get back to work! I think the 32WS’s may outnumber the 30WCF’s in my little collection; both fine cartridges but for a cast bullet hunter like myself there’s something special indeed about the 32WS.
