Does anyone know at what serial number did Winchester switch from 30 WCF to 30-30 on the barrel markings?

Thanks

Don, I can’t give you an accurate date but, it was after serial number 1,044,930 and March of 1929. I am sure Bert will have a much more precise date and serial number when he gets online.

Don,

The change occurred in 1950, in the 1676300 serial range. The same change occurred for the 32 W.S. to 32 WIN.SPL. and the 25-35 W.C.F. to 25-35 WIN. caliber markings.

I’m still working on that transitionWink. I prefer the WCF designations for a number of reasons.

I came across this thread and thought I’d try to help. I’m looking at a Model 94 in “.30 WCF”, and the year of manufacture is 1948, serial 1,50X,XXX. So the change of caliber name on the rifle would have to be after ’48.
