Just had a friend call. He said he has a model 55 sn 2529. Have not seen it but sounds like it has a hard life.

What would the DOM be?

Thanks

I don’t know why it is but most M55’s are beaters. First off, they had the old style bluing that flaked. Most have nice bores and are 30-30’s.

The takedowns seem to always be worse. Maybe that’s because there were not that many solid frame rifles that came out later. Big Larry

This one is not only a beater someone checkered it. Most likely with a hacksaw blade.  Carved there name in the stock. Added home made sling swivels. Added a recoil pad and cut the stock at a very odd angle.

The toped it off by trying to remove the barrel with the bolt closed.

Have not seen it in person and not sure how bad the damage is.
