Fellows

Here’s an interesting piece I picked up at Cody this year. (Yes, another hacksaw victim) M1894 s/n 309884 is a 22″ full octagon rifle with a 2/3 magazine in 32 WS. I like the look of an OB with a shorter mag. The special 32 WS sight is sometimes referred to as ugly, but it adds to the appeal of this particular rifle in my opinion. Differing opinions are welcome. Wink Anyway…….. enjoy.

Most cut barrel rifles seem to have been through the ringer and used up.  The one you have there looks pretty clean with a lot of good condition.   For the right price I would have taken her home too had I the chance.

Chris

It letters as such, and yes its a fairly high condition ’94, at least for my collection. Mark refers to all of mine as the hacksaw collection though! Had to pay a little extra from one of the high end dealers but I really like it. It stands right next to the 2/3 mag plain PG that your dad once owned in my safe. Its also a 32 as you may recall.

Hey Gary,

Roger that, had me going a bit.  I kept looking at that thing thinking it looks right but if he says its a hacksaw deluxe –well…   However, my comments still stand, had it been cut, for the right price it still may have come home with me.  I remember that rifle that my dad owned, that was a good one and harder to find config.  Nothing wrong with 32 WS for me, they’re the top of the line in my book when it comes to firepower in the 1894 and devastating to anything on the receiving end.

Very nice short rifle.  I hope it didn’t get rusty in the places I drooled on it in Cody.

Thanks guys, that’s the kind of rifle you find at the Cody show ….. always good stuff there, just not enough cash.

Rick – thx for confessing to the slobber marks – I got them cleaned off with some aggressive scrubbing. Actually, I didn’t think you go too exited about anything other than 73s and 76s.

You must have picked it up on Sunday since I don’t remember seeing it on your table.  Extremely nice addition – congratulations!
