As a new member, thought I should introduce myself. I am 73 and been involved in the shooting sports for only 25 years. Just last year became interested in the Ole’ West and lever action Winchesters. Belong to a gun club here in Maryland. We have a large range with over 3000 members. (As you may know, Maryland is a very non friendly state for gun owners).. I served 5 years in the navy as a Damage Control Officer on the Pocono AGC16. Vice Admiral John S McCain ( senator McCain’s dad) was the the Commander of the Atlantic Fleet and stationed on the Pocono . After leaving the navy I worked 30 years for the C&P and Bell Atlantic telephone companies and retired in 1991. I currently own 3 Winchesters: an 1873 (mfg 1892) SRC in 38-40. , an 1873.(mfg 1889) rifle in 32-20, an 1892(mfg1904) and an Uberti 1873 in 45 Colt . I am here to learn and read. I have found some good loads ( I reload) for all of my Winchester’s but the 32-20 with a 115 gr bullet. I am limited to Bullseye, Trail Boss, Tin Star, Clays, 2400, and AA5744 for powders. That’s another post, I am already learning from you folks. Thank you. Keith Klingebiel
