Let’s not forget Ben Lilly
Yup – very cool.
I notice of course that it is a full magazine rifle. I wonder if when he carried it afield if he kept the magazine filled to capacity?
Considering what he hunted I can assure you I would have!

OfflineThe short magazine rifle appeals to me because it’s easier to shoot from up in a tree.
On the other hand, the full magazine version has more weight forward, making shots at a safer distance – say, 200 yards and close to a climb-able tree.

Nice rifle Rick. I too am a HUGE fan of the 33. I like the configuration of yours, it’s one i don’t have yet.
Thanks Tom. I’ve had a few half mags but prefer the full mag.
Bill, I won’t be climbing any trees, unless it’s to untangle a factory engraved vintage Winchester found in the wild! 😜

In my Winchester .33’s, I have both full mags and half mags. but I will concede the full mag. is likely the better choice for grizzly.
My .33 Marlins are half magazines so I guess I won’t be hunting grizzly with either of them.
