Very nice! I’m a big 33 fan, have a few and one in that same configuration. Congrats on the good deal
Thanks! I’ve had a couple before but paid double that or more for them and like you cj57, I’m a fan of the 33. I personally think it’s a great cartridge and will harvest anything in North America imo.

Agreed. They were popular in Alaska-Canada and the Inter-mountain west.
Mine have grown on me and get carried around in the outback. Don’t forget
that Ben Lilly carried a FM 1886 in 33 Winchester for decades.
Read this about Lilly. “He was known many times to fight and dispatch in hand-to-hand combat bear and cougars using a self-made custom Bowie knife, more precisely a double edged S-shaped large Arkansas toothpick dagger, named “The Lilly Knife. For the rest he was an accomplished marksman and used a Winchester 1894 .30-30, when hunting mountain lion and black bear, and a Winchester 1886 in .33 Winchester for Grizzly.

I don’t reload so I only shoot factory rounds in my vintage levers so there’s no mistakes, ie; hot loads, etc. I’m always on the lookout for any factory obsolete ammo at a show for a decent price and not the $10-$12 a cartridge($200-$250 a box) or more, so sometimes the partial boxes are the way to go and cheaper per cartridge.
I will usually try to set up any of my lever acquisitions for 50-100 yds providing it’s safe to do so mechanically. My range bag contains an aluminum punch and hammer for sight adjustment and most times I can get a decent group with minimal amount of cartridges. The last few times out hunting I only needed one shot so luck and patience have been on my side. With cost of ammo as a consideration, I do most of my shooting with rim fires at the range.
