OK, so call me stupid, but I just traded a near mint M1873 Musket with bayonet and original cleaning rod for a 95% 1916 vintage M1894 in 38-55. Redbook value shows the rifle to be worth more than the Musket. Rifle has the octagon bbl. and is a Plain Jane. Took the Marble tang sight off and replaced it with a correct Lyman #103 in mint condition. Correct as production began in 1916. Has a pre 22-C Flat top rear and brass insert with screw front. Even the buttplate is 100% blue. Just a little receiver spotting or the rifle would be minty. Pics later. Big Larry
