Scored a nice enough 1894 in the closing hours of last weekend’s TGCA show. As mentioned elsewhere next table over had a loading tool I “needed” to go with a mould and a couple of rifles in 32-40. Seller kept dropping his price so I stopped him before the gun police got involved. Bore is best I’ve seen in awhile and all the corners on the OB are sharp as is the upper edge of the fore end wood. Just got through cleaning it, somewhat nicer gun than I first thought. Last thing I needed was another 1894 but I think I’ll keep her!

Thanks, Bert and Steve. Feel fortunate to have stumbled across it. I hope I have some ammo on the shelf, or at least a handful of bullets.

Thanks, Dan. You walked right past it but there were dozens of very nice guns there. I missed it several times myself, was more interested in a rifle at the next table.

Mike – hard to resist a octagon full magazine 94 with a rifle butt – and in my favorite caliber – harder to find than you might think – especially not messed with.

Very nice, Burt! I think the chambering is not very popular with most collectors, I seldom see them but since stumbling into a sweet deal on an 1885 in 32-40 a little while back I’ve been keeping an eye out for nice 1894’s. I’ve scored a couple of good 1894’s in 32-40 this year, now all I need is a little time in my loading room so I can shoot them.

Here’s My favorite 32-40. You fellas may not like it with them ol’ Brirish proofs but I’m kinda partial. The gun came to Wisconsin from England in 1945 then to Egmondville Ont. a few years ago along with a bunch of other s.r.c.’s
Nice rifle Michael!

Great looking carbine, Harry. No problem with British proofs, part of the gun’s story.
