got a chance to purchase this carbine and wanted to get some feedback.  usually dive in head first, more of a ready-shoot-aim mentality, but decided to get some advice.

SN 867559, 38-55 caliber.

Looks like a pretty honest, well-used gun. Left side of the receiver looks a little odd but I’m guessing it just has a heavy coat of oil around the saddle ring. Something seems a little odd about it but can’t put my finger on it. Bore looks like it could clean up nice but it’s hard to say fro the pic. Is the price reasonable?

I really like the chambering, suspect it will clean up nicely. Plan on shooting it?

I guess what was bothering me is that I don’t see many carbines like yours.
