Bert,  I have a 94 for your survey. This one is # 1066309. 25-35, carbine butt, full magazine. Has a nice Lyman #1A tang sight on it with a blank in rear sight dovetail.

A few questions if you do not mind;

1.  Eastern or SRC ?

2.  Type 6 upper tang marking ?

3.  Have you checked the barrel date ?  Based on the serial number, it is a mid-year 1930 production gun.

Thanks!

Bert

Bert,

The tang is a type 6, no saddle ring. This little gem looks like it has never been taken apart, so I’ll leave it that way. When I took the Lyman sight off, the blueing on the tang looked new. It even had the thin paper under it.

That paper shim was what Winchester used to align the sight.  I would not take it apart either!  Thanks for the information on your 1930 production Eastern Carbine.

The 25-35 WCF is by a very large margin the least common of the standard calibers in the 1927 – 1952 production period.  Of the 11,133 Model 94s that I have surveyed in the 1000000 – 2600011 serial number range, just (351) of them were made in that caliber.
