Chris, You are correct, it would be cool to have a consecutive #’d pair of 1st. models, so if any one knows where #’s 74- 76, 229-231, 950-952, 1658-1660 or 2214-2216 are, please call Me, I “MAY” be interested. I know this one is not a 1st. mod. but it does fall in to that time frame. And it would be nice to find ser#3598-3600 to go with it, and even nicer if one of them was a 1st. mod., wha’da’ya’ think.

Thanks for posting Al. Now I’m going to be losing sleep again over this one….😫😥😭
Don
Ha, Ha. me too.
Well Al, judging from the few photos you posted, that one you do own doesn’t look too shabby! I’m still on the hunt for a decent one, but Henry keeps snatching them all up…😁😎
Don and Al, Unfortunately many of us aren’t rolling in money and can’t always afford some petty faced Winchester. Thus most of us have serious regrets! I, too, have my regrets of not buying something. The few where I paid “too much” ease away and are soon forgotten. But not the ones that got away! Tim

Do you have SN 3019 in your first model survey?
I do not. Is it a 1st Model? 38-55? Rifle? Details please.
Bert
38-55 round barrel rifle…….. nothing else out of the ordinary to report. And as much as I’d like to provide you with a second model (for the first model survey)…. I think I’ll stay the course….. so yes, its a first.

There is a definite intermix of 1st and 2nd model guns in the 3000+ serial range. It is great that it is a 1st Model. This rifle brings the total in the survey to (595) of the first 7,999 serial numbers, and of that number, (283) are confirmed 1st Models.
Thanks,
Bert

Chris; any idea where Your Dad’s ser#1658 is now, I sure would like to find a 1st. mod. with a cosecutive ser# to one of mine, 75, 230, 951, 1659 or 2215
I have no idea, its been 15 years since he sold it.
