I heard a rumor that the next time I showed my face at the Cody show there would be a "special" place for me to go if I did not get my act together and beat the Savage-itis…so I went and visited a good friend who was willing to show me a potential cure.
I have been wanting to obtain a 30 WCF with some special options for awhile and was happy to find this one. It also fits into the interest in turn of the century hunting rifles that I’ve developed over the last couple years. The rifle has a near perfect bore; so I might just get a tang sight on there and make a serious effort to try cast bullets. Couple minor scratches in the metal but just a nice clean gun with nice furniture and in the condition area I’ve grown to like.

My friend also gave me some Winchester targets. I have no idea how to tell a repro from an original on these but the paper is old and the available calibers listed for the 1894 and 1895 caught my eye.

Hi Phil. Standard 26" length. Finish on the buttplate = none left. There is some case color on the lever and hammer but it’s not real bright any more either.
Thanks for the compliments guys. It should shoot very well. Nice tight action yet too.

Thanks Michael.
Something I was rather ignorant of was the magazine tube. BOBR94’s book educated me on this rifle having what I think is the "true button" magazine retainer that he discusses on pages 72 and 207 of my book. Thanks Mr. Renneberg for keeping the learning interesting.
