Again, this one is not a fine condition rifle but, finding a 1/2 Octagon barreled short rifle is not all that common from what I have found.

Thanks Paul. I saw your e-mail. Just trying to figure out if it is unique. It has a 2/3 magazine with a plain pistol grip stock and smooth steel butt. I’ve seen one other 23" gun at auction in a different configuration.
I’m having Cody do the research on it now.

Rick,
Per the ARMAX Vol. V, there were (6) Model 1894s made with a 23-inch barrel, and (1) with a 23.5-inch barrel.
The rarest barrel length I have personally seen is the (1) Model 1894 with a 19.5-inch 1/2 octagon barrel.

Here is my other 1/2 OB short rifle. Nothing to brag about as far as condition but, it is different.

Nice shorty Paul. You gave good taste in 94s. I have a dandy 22" Deluxe ELW on the way. It is also part octagon. Should have it within the next month, I will post pics when I have it in hand.
Rick: I friend of mine up here in Canada has at least one, but I believe he has 2 of them 23" short rifles. Not sure on the configuration, I would have to ask him next time I see him. I know one is in the Armax survey, not sure about the other.

Look forward to seeing your new 22" deluxe ELW. Knowing the quality of guns that you get, I am sure it is a fine rifle.Paul
It’s one of the two I showed you back in April or May, but will post pics on here once I have it in hand. Anxious to get my grubby little hands on it!
