This is probably not worth anyone’s time and i personally have no clue about this stuff however i was browsing a local auction listing and notice some oldish Winchester ammunition and brass that might be of value to someone on this forum.

.405 Winchester Brass https://bid.joerpyleauctions.com/ui/auctions/145482/20820391

Old box of 38-40 Winchester among other ammunition https://bid.joerpyleauctions.com/ui/auctions/145482/20820382

also some vintage or antiques scopes and such on the same auction

Also, on a separate auction listing of the same company they have all the firearms, there are some old Winchesters on there that might be desirable to some of yall. Im assuming this auction is a little lower key than most so prices might be better but i wouldn’t know. I just wanted to give the link in case anyone could take value from it. Looks like most of the Winchesters are toward the bottom of the list as you scroll down.

Hopefully this is ok to post here, if not let me know and I can delete it. Thank you.

Some items that I found interesting.  One lot has several, what look like new unprimed cases from Rocky Mountain Cartridge:  40-85 Bullard, 40-60 Maynard, 44-75 Everlasting, 40-63 Ballard Everlasting, and a box 40-65 Match from Ballard Rifle and Cartridge Co.  Sure don’t see these every day.  Quite a few additional items in this lot.  Bidding is up to $2.

40-85 Ballard full die set along with a separate trim die.  Now if I could find a Winchester single-shot rifle in this chambering.  Bert – how many did they make in 40-85 Ballard?

I’m glad someone found something interesting. Did any of the guns in the other auction listing look worth while to you? I saw some high walls and other older guns. The Ballard rifles also seemed really cool to me.

This high wall has a tang sight

This 1894 has a tang sight as well if that is interesting to anyone also looks to be an older example with an octagon barrel.

Steve,

I agree with you on the older Ammo, and if the bidding stays down on it, you might be able to sneak it out of there reasonably on the low side. Some harder to find stuff, if you’re in need! IMO!

Noah,

Bert is our Resident Model 1885 Expert!

With that said, I’ll add, that first High Wall is worn pretty good, as far as no finish left on the metal, as any bluing has turned to patina, and the wood stock shows an old refinished, and sanded down at the inside corners of the wood to metal fit, at the tang. The tang sight is in a matching condition to the rifle for the most part, as it looks like it’s been there awhile. The front sight is also attractive as a harder to find sight in most cases than the tang sight. It’s definitely not a rifle that most Winchester Collectors would go after, in it’s condition. IMHO!

The model 07 is pretty worn and scratched up, even the magazine has pitting on the left side that’s visible, and really don’t command a lot of money on today’s market, as you can find one a lot better, at a reasonable price! IMHO!

Thanks for sharing the Auction info here!

Anthony
