hi all new to the site here. so i have this mid 60’s Winchester model 190 i’m “restoring” back into a shoo-table condition. it looked like it had never been cleaned and i believe it was in my fathers uncles barn when he died. and with all the mud that was packed in it from mud wasps i wouldn’t be surprised. so i stripped the whole thing refinished the wood, sonic cleaned all the parts. i had to remove the old barrel because it was to far gone to save. so here’s my question , how far does the barrel seat in the receiver when reinstalling? should it be flush on the inside of the receiver or should it go all the way into the relief cut in the ceiling of the receiver?
