Winchester 1885 Single Shot Rifle hammer won’t release|Restoration, Repair and Maintenance|Forum|Winchester Collector

While taking the buttstock off of a Single Shot Rifke I removed 4 instead of the necessary three screws and released the sear.  I know that the sear must be retained by the seat screw but no matter what I do the hammer remains pulled back and pressure on the hammer or trigger does nothing.  Advice?
