Good afternoon,
I am trying to establish the proper thread size and TPI count for the barrel band screws on a third generation Model 1873 SRC. Does anybody know the proper thread details? Were all third generation screws consistent?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As far as I know they are the same but I haven’t messed with many carbines. Here is the specs.

For all around reference material, Art Pirkle’s books have been recommended. Would you also recommend his books?

Jim,
I have the Pirkle books as well and use them to check when something was changed but its just one set of books. If there is a reference book for the 73 I buy it. I have the Madis book, the Gordon book, the 1873 handbook by Stone and the 12 volume catalog set. The stone book is where I found the screw specs. Each book will have their errors or omissions.
