I have a 95 rifle that had a Providence Tool co. rplica of the Lyman 21 mounted. The Providence sight includes an 11-36 tap for mounting the sight. The Finger lever pin stop screw has been drilled and tapped out to this size. I removed the Providence sight and mounted a Redfield 102E which I much prefer. It covers the rear mounting holes but I’m left with the pin stop screw hole empty. I read somewhere that Winchester used a number 9, 10 and 11 size screw over the production life of the 1895. Seems illogical to me but may be true. Homestead arms makes a replacement but can’t find any info on diameter and pitch. Anyone know this? Or perhaps I will have to make one on the lathe.
