I need to have some repair work done on a Pre 1900, Winchester 94 Receiver.  It may involve some welding.  Does anyone know the steel content, which will help select the correct welding material to use with TIG welding. One item will be repairing a cracked Tang. The other repairing cracks on a Takedown Barrel Extension. Any suggestion appreciated. Don

I repaired a broken upper tang for a friend and learned its real tricky. I used the standard steel rod I used for welding modern steel.
