I’d resist the urge to disassemble the gun.

There are many videos available online and here is a written tutorial http://www.castbullet.com/misc/tdown.htm but as TedK mentioned there is VERY seldom the need to disassemble the 94.

I’ve only disassembled 1894’s to perform repairs, there are some good videos available but I avoid it when possible.

Thank you all for prompt responses. I didn’t get the rifle yet, but it seems that it wasn’t stored properly and it has some build up on the engraved receiver. And i dont know yet the condition of the inside.

I will keep you posted

Thanks

Hi Sam

i disassemble every new gun I get.  How else can you learn how it works and it’s condition, however you need a really good gun screwdriver set, the correct schematic, maybe even YouTube, and most of all patience!  I’ve found a couple glitches in some instructions.  I’ve seen carriers that don’t have the guide indent, so they come out easily but are almost impossible to reinstall.  Don’t take the guides out, it takes a special tool.  The for-end caps can be a bear.  Make sure it’s lined up with a punch or pin before you start the screw.  If it goes hard, stop it’s wrong!  Also pay close attention to the sear spring and it’s orientation.  There are different types on these old 94’s.

have fun.
