Model 88 wood restoration|Restoration, Repair and Maintenance|Forum|Winchester Collector

I am looking at restoring a M88 stock to it’s original finish. As like the M70, did these early models, (1950’s era), have lacquer finishes? And did the early M88s have the same reddish coloring? If you have pictures of on with the original finish, I’d love to see them to try and match it.
