I was hoping on getting help identifying this sight I found at estate sale. 
marking is “ Pat Jan 29.79 may 8 84” on bottom it looks like a VP or may be a JA.

The “JA” application code on the underside of the sight base indicates that it was made for a Marlin Model 1893 chambered for any of the following cartridges;, .25/36, .30/30, .32 H.P.S., .32/40 H.P.S. & .38/55 H.P.S.
