I recently picked up a beautiful 1892 Take Down in 32-20. But it has the short magazine.
Is it possible to convert to a long magazine and still be able to convert back to short so the value isn’t impacted?
What would be needed and where could I obtain the needed parts?
Thanks
If you wanted a full mag and converted properly with the tube hanger and a cut under the barrel lock the lever in place you would be cutting the value of your gun significantly. Even if you left those features off you would probably damage the finish under the barrel screwing the tube in and out.

Thanks Bob,
I just realized I’d need to cut the barrel to add the magazine tube support…Not good!
Looks like I’ll need to keep looking for a long magazine takedown….either 32-20 or 38-40
I have a recent reproduction winchester 92 TD in 38-40……But its so pretty I’m afraid to take it out in the field and scratch it!
