Anyone here have experience, good or bad, with this product? It looks like steel wool but I’ve had really surprising results removing small rust spots from bluing, some to the point that they are virtually unnoticeable, once I got past the stigma of rubbing steel wool on the gun.

I’ve been using it for decades–before it was sold under that name. Very useful when used properly (that is, with oil & light pressure), but not exactly the “miracle rust remover” implied in their ads.  Would I be wrong in guessing the rust spots you’re referring to were light surface rust, not advanced enough to produce visible pitting?

Very light rust, Clarence, enough that you could feel it when wiping over it but stubborn to the point it wouldn’t wipe off. The rifle I used it on has 90% blue but appears to have been neither oiled or properly stored in a dry atmosphere, none the less it cleaned up nicely.

I’ve used this product with great results, and as Clarence stated, use light pressure and oil.
