My son bought an 1894 takedown in 38-55 that was apparently made in 1896. The takedown joint is loose and had never been adjusted, but when I took of the forend I found that the three takedown screws were removed and missing. Does anyone know the thread pitch of those three screws or where I might find replacements. A 10-32 machine screw is close and will thread in about three turns before binding, but is obviously not the correct size. Any help would be appreciated.
