My 1905 94 with the close coupled DST takes 2 attempts in set mode to fire. Worse when below 0 out. after the set just a click , but pull the hammer back anf re-set , it always fires on 2nd attempt in warm weather. But in cold weather often takes a consistent 3 attempts. I think it has been doing this since I replaced a thin flatspring trigger return in thie bottom tang where the 3 small springs are stacked and held by one screw
Thanks
Phil
Phil,
A couple of things come to mind. If the normal trigger pull is hard then the set needs more energy to kick the sear off the hammer. You could have a weak spring on the kick off also. Fixing set triggers are hard, its like fixing a watch. A weak spring, worn part or grime can screw them up. I know the single sets have a pin in them that can be installed wrong that can do that. I fixed a lot of single sets but never did double sets. Here is a good article about single sets.
