Put new carrier spring in and cycled fine a few times.wasn’t dropping down into notch on lifter arm.Now it locks up when carrier is raised and spring drops in notch.never worked on ’73 before and end of spring was broke off.if I push down on the carrier while leverling it it will break loose.I guess it’s supposed to drop in the notch.any ideas?

thanks, Pete

Bob,

Not much of a picture taker but here it is…………….well, maybe not. Can’t figger out how to send it! Doesn’t drop down in

notch as much as yours. Maybe need more bend on spring or so much wear on parts something else is going on.

I’ll try some more on pic later.

Bob,

Tried sending pic by email on phone.replacement spring doesn’t have as much bend as original making it .046  longer.can spring be bent without much chance of breaking or relieve notch in lifter?

Pete,

Tthe email photo you sent has a weird file type which didn’t open. You can’t bend a spring without a good chance it will break.
