I’ve got a 3rd model 1873 .32-20 that doesn’t function. The lever’s been changed. The finish doesn’t match the rest of the gun and it appears short (doesn’t reach the latch). I know there’s different latches. I’ve been searching and can’t find anything about different length levers. I’d hate to buy another lever and find I’ve got the right one. It comes to about the center of the tang screw. Does that sound right? Any ideas?
Thanks Dave
Dave,
If you can send me some pictures of it I might be able to help. I have some guns that the lever ends close to the center of the tang screw but still latch. It could be the lever or latch have been ground on or the lever was bent at one time and straightened and now it does not have the right shape.
