Seems to be working – I did not do anything different from a couple of hours ago. Thanks
Bert – still seem to be having problems – I can upload some photos and others I cannot. They are all saved to the same location on the computer and some will upload fine but some of them I hit upload attachment, add file, then click on the file (photo) but nothing happens, won’t upload. Any ideas where I am going wrong.

You may be running into a file size issue. If the picture is too large, it will not allow you to post it.

Thank you – I should have asked last night and saved myself some grief. I did finally look in the Forum at a post from Mike Hager and discovered images are currently limited to 3 megabytes in size which explained why I was able to send the test photo to you and then was not able to send the photo I wanted to send – it was too big! Do you know if the 3 megabytes size recently changed – the reason I ask is I think a couple of photos I was unsuccessful in sending are photos I had previously sent. It appears the restriction on image size also applies to PM’s sent to other WACA members. Once again, thank you for the help.

I do not know if the size limit has recently changed, but I do know that we just finished moving the WACA website to a brand new server provider. I will have to do some investigating to find the answer to your question.

Thank you my friend – many of us really appreciate all you do! I kind of think they have reduced the allowable image size. As an experiment I tried to send a couple of photos which I am confident I had sent with a post at some time and they would not go – yep, too big. As they say in life, one has to be continually adjusting.
Burt,
Send me the pictures that you are unable to load so that I can examine them, and see if I can post them.

Whenever possible I try to reduce the file size on pics, makes it easier on both ends.

I will send a couple of photos which I am unable to upload to Bert and let him play with them. There is a 2014 post from Mike Hagler which indicates 3 megabytes in size is the limit. I have not seen anything indicating that has changed but I have photos which I am not able to either upload into a post or send via PM to another WACA member which I have not previously had any problems sending (same photo) – so something is different. This photo loaded fine – it is 1.1MB – I just tried others that will not load but I don’t know size until they start uploading.

The Windows “Paint” program can be used, but there’s probably an easier way to do it.
I tried cropping them and that failed. That was always the beauty of this site, download your photos on the PC and upload on WACA. We seem to be “progressing” backwards the further technology advances….. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it!

The size was reduced to 2 MB due to server space, but I have requested that it be changed back to 3 MB with the new server.

Burt,
Your pictures are nowhere near the 2 MB limit. The problem is that the file name on your pictures is way too long (too many characters). The quoted text below is the file name on the first picture you sent me… a total of (42) numbers & letters in the file name. If you shorten (or rename) the picture file, it will allow you to post it on the forum. There may be a setting in your camera that needs to be changed.
“thumbnail_64874098E0C849DEBECD724DE2A2BD2F”
I changed the file name to “Burt_H1” and as you can see, it posted perfectly, as it is only 344 KB

I’m lost – the file name which the photo is saved under in my computer hard drive is “92deluxe”. I don’t know what that thumbnail you reference is or where it came from. The photo was taken with an I-pad, then sent by e-mail to my computer where I saved it, calling the photo “92deluxe”. I have been doing it this way for years and never had any problems before.
