I believe that if you have ever posted a reply message in a topic, that the forum operating system auto subscribes you to that topic string.

I do get emails from other forum posts, which are annoying, but thankfully not this one. No matter if I post in it or not!

The last week or so I have a Post that won’t clear. It’s in the What’s New Forum. It was a post of a 94 now it is a 1895 post. The 94 post cleared it’s self but the 1895 won’t. No matter how many times I open the Post it won’t stop showing I haven’t read it?
