Hello to Everybody
My first shooting as a kid was with my uncle’s Winchester 74, around 1954. Wanted one of my own many years and finally found one about a year ago. That stated my Winchester collecting. Up to six now and looking all time. Just ones that interest me and I shoot them all.
Request help on my Model 74 that has a jam feed problem. The round that is up to be chambered is being pushed up by the next round up in the mag. The jammed round is shoved too high to enter the barrel and jams the bolt partially open. Happens 2-4 times per mag.
This 74 also ” stovepipes” about 1-3 times per mag. When this rifle works, it is very, very accurate at 50 yards. Do want to correct these problems to enjoy this rifle. The rifle has about 90% bluing and the stock is in good used condition.
Looks like so much knowledge about Winchesters here in this group.
Thanks very much
Mell
