OfflineIt was fun last year… lets do it again! On Wednesday evening (5:30ish) lets gather at Fat Rack’s BBQ in downtown Cody… just a couple blocks East of the Irma Inn. This is a “BYOB” (Buy Your Own BBQ) event. This is a no pressure, no rush, just a great time to connect with friends and fellow collectors & enjoy some great BBQ before the insanity of the next morning! As we get closer to the date, please post your name & preferred meal choice in this thread and I will give Fat Rack’s the information. Looking forward to Cody & seeing everyone again! Cheers. Ben

OfflineSandy and I are in! The beef brisket was great last year so we will do that x2 again.
Also, for the real BYOB, there is a convenience store adjacent to Fat Racks that has an excellent assortment of cold beer, including Wyoming’s own “307” Lager by the Black Tooth Brewing Co. which pairs well with the brisket sandwich. “It is a contemporary light lager with a malty, bready, and light lemon flavor with mild bitterness. It has a light body and a dry finish” 307 is the area code for the entire state of Wyoming by the way…..
Hope to see the cool kids there!

I’ve been re evaluating my trip to Cody. I usually get there mid day on Thursday. But I’m really beat up and tired. I’ve been thinking about coming in Wednesday in the late afternoon. If so, I’d like to come.
We would certainly welcome you (new guy buys the first round)… if you need directions or a ride, give me a shout when you arrive.

Good plan, I’ve found I enjoy the show more if I’m not tired when I get there.
I think I need to try the ribs. I haven’t replaced my smoker yet and I enjoy a rack of good ribs now and then.

I might take you up on the ride. I have been using the same cab driver for years.

OfflineChuck, et al. I do believe in getting to Cody on Wed afternoon. Thursday then is not so tiring and more enjoyable. Plus I still get excited and can’t wait! But the drive is now wearing me a bit down. Chuck, if need be I can also pick you up at the airport. Keep it in mind. Ben, count on myself and son for brisket!

Thanks for the offer. Not sure what I’m doing yet. If I get there early enough I’d like to take my luggage to the motel first.
If I had someone that could travel with me I’d go back to driving. This would eliminate several problems for me. I have to fly United and going through Denver has become a major hassle. United is the only one that has a flight to Cody. The last few years every flight to or through Denver, either to Cody, Colorado Springs or Greeley has had delays. My other problem that I haven’t figured out is how to fly with black powder cartridges. The TSA at Cody are some of the worst I’ve encountered. I guess they have nothing better to do than harassing gun people.
