Hey Doc—Treebone Carving in Nevada or the Macon Gunstock Company guys will have newly carved stuff that you will have to fit and finish. Homestead Parts in Arizona may have something new or 2nd hand that is usable. One will occasionally pop up on EBay but they disappear in a hurry. I personally watch the auction sites for “fixer uppers” and “parts guns” that are rusty, altered, and/or abused—occasionally you will find a worthy donor/project. A good and clean early OEM 64/65 stock is going to be hard to find (as you are no doubt already finding out). Good Luck with your hunting expedition. I’ve heard that the Macon guys will do the fit and finish if you want to send your project to them—probably need deep pockets though. Some other members will have helpful suggestions. PH

homestead parts has several excellent exterior 90 .22 short barrels ; shiny bore with visible rifling. call!

I doubt that they will have the longer barrel that came on the 1st Models.

I've got a nice Model 12, but want a short barrel (riot length) and don't want to cut the one I have.

Therefore, I'm looking for a garden-grade barrel of any length.

All that matters is that it be suitable to cut to 20 inches for daily use, and then I can still have the long barrel for sport use. And I'm a cheapskate, so I'm not looking for a collector-grade item. It doesn't have to be pretty.

Any seamless tube can be made to look like a seamed tube by simply using a straight edge and a scribe. The seam is up against the barrel or in the forearm and not visible without disassembly. T/R
