Winchester 1886 obfm rifle in 38-56 circa 1897. Mostly patina with some blue in protected areas. Smooth metal. Wood has some dings but no cracks or missing pieces. Good bore. A nice honest original rifle. Comes with a set of dies and brass formed from 45-70 cases.

It seems that the Octagon barrel Gallery rifle hangers are harder to come by. I've only had the round barrel hangers myself.

Includes mounting screws, an aperture, and a spare elevation screw.

This is either a late prewar or early postwar specimen, with relieved block and the earlier thimble knobs without directional marks, typical for that period of manufacture. The assembly mark "V41" is stamped on both base and bridge, as is the "F" code. This is a factory assembly, not a hybrid. The condition is as shown in the photos. In my opinion, very little used.
