The metal is great... the wood is nice, but not quite what I'm in need of. This is one of those projects where the "sum of the parts" is much more valuable than the individual parts... I want to bring all the pieces together. thanks.

Ben, I have the Model 69 rifle (G6902 Type1) that you might have been interested in (although in probably about 90% condition). It doesn't meet your factory original requirements anymore since I checkered the stock. I purchased the rifle at a local gun show specifically because the stock was in excellent condition, and it was a relatively inexpensive Winchester on which to practice my checkering skills. I think it turned out ok, although I've improved some since this attempt.

Any chance you'd be interested in selling the box?
