I think Bert mentioned he would prefer having internal tubes installed, today. And so would I.

However, Briley Manufacturing gets $299 to install lead/bismuth flush tubes in a pump or automatic. For steel/tungston capable, $329. Those prices are plus shipping and tax and include your choice of 3 tubes. 

I've got a high condition field grade, 20 gauge Model 50 with two barrels, one mod and the other full. I'd like to add an IC or Skeet choke but sending the full barrel to Briley would increase my basis in the outfit by a third!  I could sacrifice the full choke by having it reamed to IC.  On reflection, I decided I'd stay with the factory constructions and shoot my occasional Skeet games with something else. If the gun were a 12, I'd likely ream the full barrel to 50%. 

Best way to get tubes is to buy a gun that has them. 

Pumps are noisy and can send a useful signal. But not to squirrels.

That Model 12 was returned to the seller. This Model 12 is the replacement. It needs some loving, but it'll get plenty here.

This should be a legit 4 digit S/N.

Already ordered some 2.5" shells for it too.

You get under a big hickory with 5-8 squirrels in it, pump just too noisy, they'll get gone before you can get many shots! 

Only 3" I ever owned other than couple singleshots, was a Miroku Browning A5 12ga.

I had a Mod 25 12ga 3" FC that I traded for in i think 1980. It killed most all my squirrels up till mid 80's, and that was the peak years of my squirrel hunts, 75 to 150 every year, and that being working 6 days a week. I was a squirrel hunting thorobred then! That Mod 25, although heavy, was a tight shooter to tops of big timber in these mountains. I went to a Belgian Browning A5 Lite 12, my all time favorite orher than the perfect Mod 37! Had a Mod 12 before this, and the Mod 25 was every bit the gin the Mod 12 was!
  

I must not have been paying close attention over the years, but I don't recall the Model 25 being chambered in 3" ?

A factory Model 12 Skeet gun is of interest to a lot of the membership and I'm confident more than a few will chime in and give you their unvarnished views. 

However, you are asking these people to devote valuable time. You shouldn't do that unless you are willing to take the trouble to show them what they need to opine. 

If you have access to a photo hosting site, post them there and post a link here. In case you don't, I'm going to PM you my email address. Email them to me and I'll post them here for you. 

Also has a checkered select walnut stock and forearm in excellent condition - butt plate and grip cap are not cracked or chipped and appear to be hard rubber. 

Serial # puts it at 1948 - numbers match and "skeet" is stamped below the receiver Sr#.

Bluing is about 80 per cent - butt a couple of "Idiot marks" on the receiver from careless re-assembly - also a couple of dime-size older splotches from surface rust on receiver - I think it was stored long-term in a takedown case.

An interesting gun that I couldn't pass up - first actual one like this I've ever seen.

I had declared "no more model 12's" and had traded my Dave Riffle Model 12 book away - so now I'm without info.

So, Looking for opinions - Are these old Skeet Models with Factory Comp's desired by collectors and any ballpark ideas of a value range ?

I know without providing photo's it's hard to opine but just looking for input. Thx. D.
